Dear Chief Sharp;

I am concerned.
On December 13, 2014 I photographed a specific white Ford F-150 pickup truck parked in the
northernmost parking space under the carport roof behind City Hall. This truck had an official
Commonwealth of Kentucky seal on the door and a Kentucky Official license plate (C 2492) in
the cab rear window.
That truck was still in the same spot on December 27, 2014.
While driving north on Shepherdsville Road on Monday, December 29, 2014, I saw this truck
pulled out of its parking space and stopped at a right angle to the parking spots with its hood up.
Later that same day I returned to City Hall on foot, with my camera, and the Ford F-150 with the
Official Kentucky markings and license plate was gone.
Today, January 1, 2015, that truck is back virtually unchanged except the Official license plate
(C 2492) is out of the back window and it is now mounted on the rear bumper. An old tire and
some trash was removed from the bed of the truck, but it otherwise looks exactly the same to me,
including the Kentucky Seal on the door.
Its possible this truck was purchased by the City of West Buechel and the license plate and truck
markings were never changed. I do not believe that is very likely.
It is possible that the Commonwealth of Kentucky has negotiated the use of West Buechels
parking lot for one of its trucks. I do not believe that either.
It is also possible that someone with an inside connection at City Hall purchased a surplus stateowned truck and doesnt want to pay the transfer fees, taxes and insurance costs that go along
with buying a truck, even if that involves impersonating a state official and driving without
insurance.
This strikes me as highly suspicious, if not outright criminal, and it pisses me off.
Sincerely yours,
/s/ Tom Fox
