Atlas Cares Philanthropy Program


Atlas Cares is a team member sponsored program that makes a
difference in the lives of others while directly giving back to the
community. Recent activities include:
Atlas Park
Atlas Park is a dynamic playground for children in Taylor, MI. Atlas
constructed the park on an abandoned piece of land across from the
Atlas Home Office. It is now enjoyed year round by families in the
community.
Atlas Cares Annual Marines Holiday Party
This holiday party is held each year for Marines and their families at
Selfridge ANGB. We host hundreds of men and women who serve
our country and Atlas volunteers and suppliers put personal time
and effort into the planning and execution of the event.

Capuchin Kitchen
The Capuchin Soup Kitchen strives to enforce positive factor healing
force in the spirits and lives of needy individuals, provide
encouragement, direction, and material assistance to promote
growth and wholesome independence with respect and dignity.
JAM - Joint Aid Management
JAMs main goal is to help Africa help itself by contributing toward
the alleviation of poverty through sustainable development
programs. Every Year Atlas Oil Company donates funds to help build
drinking wells for the poverty stricken areas of Africa.
Cornerstone Schools
Cornerstone school strives to help Detroits inner city Children
receive an education to prepare them for life and leadership.

Atlas Cares Award Criteria


To qualify for funding, any request must be a direct
benefit to a group or organization and not through a third
party. Specific Categories for giving include:
Childrens education and welfare programs
Military programs to help those who serve our
country
Community programs to advance the health and
vitality of communities we serve

Atlas Cares Award Criteria


Additional Criteria:
Does this program, charity, etc. align with the Atlas
brand?
Does it embody our values and culture?
Does Atlas have exclusivity or are we one of many
donors?
Is there PR value or potential for positive media
coverage?
Does it meet legal and regulatory guidelines?
Is there opportunity to involve a member of senior
leadership to broaden our company exposure?
Is there opportunity to become a multi-year donor or
is it a one time event?

Submittal Process
Requests for funding from Atlas Cares come from many
sources, but must follow an approved process:
Obtain funding request form from our Website at
www.AtlasOil.com or on our Intranet for Atlas team
members.
Fill out all requested information: charitable program,
purpose, fit with criteria, amount requested and name
and contact information for submitter.
Requests will be reviewed by J. Tottis and N. Simon
with input from others as appropriate.
Request for funding decisions will be made
monthly/quarterly?

Approved Awards
Once an award is approved, it is important to ensure that
we leverage the award on multiple levels.
A leverage team will be put in place for any large award
that merits integration, so that we ensure the appropriate
resources are involved.

Leverage Team Roles & Responsibilities


Leverage team representatives will be
assigned from each appropriate business unit
The leverage team will develop the plan for
Atlas involvement: volunteers needed,
promotion details, executive involvement, etc.
The leverage team will also develop the
process to measure the effectiveness of our
involvement and recommend or decline
future participation.
