STUDENT ORIENTATION and OPEN HOUSE

A through N -- 5:00 and 5:45
M through Z 5:45 and 6:30

We would like to invite you to our 2014 Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School Student Orientation and Open House.
On Thursday, August 14, from 5:00pm until 6:30pm, we invite you and your middle school student(s) to our
school so that you may introduce yourself to your students school and staff. During this time you will be able to
do the following:
Receive your class schedule
Find your classrooms throughout the building
Receive your locker assignment
Practice combination, and drop off supplies
Meet your teachers, counselor, nurse, secretarial staff, and administration
Register for volleyball, cross country, football, and 6 th grade track and pick up or turn in
physical and consussion paperwork and pick up practice/competition schedule
Learn about and join the PTO
Purchase ERMS spirit apparel
Students who are unable to attend may take care of this business during the first day of school.
Please see your homebase teacher to get your locker and schedule, then drop off your school supplies in your
locker.
After the housekeeping is taken care of, we invite you to tour the building. Be sure to use this opportunity to
follow your schedule and find all your classrooms. This will give you the opportunity to meet all the teachers,
learn about the curriculum, get contact information, and take care of any concerns or questions you may have.
Then join us in the cafeteria for cake and social time with other ERMS families.

Please enter through the main entrance in the middle of the building, near the LRC and
Cafeteria. Faculty will be available to help you find your house assignment if you didnt
bring that information with you, and direct you to the right pod.
In order to efficiently meet the needs of our entire student body, we are asking that we
split up attendance alphabetically by last name. This will ensure that our faculty has
enough time and attention for all our students and their families. Students with last name
starting A through N should report anytime between 5:00
and 5:45. Students M through Z should report
anytime between 5:45 and 6:30.
