A student is writing to request permission to use the song "Home" by the band Daughter in a two-minute opening film sequence she is creating for her media studies coursework. The film focuses on the challenges of a teenage boy dealing with bipolar disorder to highlight important issues of mental health representation in mainstream media. She has attached the film poster and offers to share the completed opening sequence, hoping the band may enjoy it as well.

My name is Hana Grant and I am a student at Brentford Sixth Form. I
am studying an Advanced Subsidiary (AS) in Media Studies. I am currently completing my Media coursework, which involves making a two-minute opening sequence to a film. For the opening sequence, I would very much love to use the music of one of my favourite bands, Daughter. As the publisher, I am writing to you to ask for your permission and consent to use the track Home. My film idea for the project is a Coming of Age film based around the challenges of a teenage boy dealing with Bipolar Disorder. I believe that mental health issues need to be highlighted more within mainstream media and it is a matter very close to my heart. I look forward to your reply and am happy to send you a copy of my opening film sequence once it is completed, if you so wish to see it maybe you could even show it to the band! I have attached a copy of the film poster for you to look at, I hope you like it. Thank you for taking the time to read my E-mail and I wish you the best for 2015. Kind Regards, Miss Hana Grant.
