Unit 2: The Structure of the Philippine Government

The legislative department is that branch of government tasked with the duty and
power to make and formulate laws. That is why, the legislature is considered as the
lawmaking body of the state. This is the body where laws originate, without which, the
executive and judicial departments shall be paralyzed. If there is no law from the
legislature, the executive department has nothing to implement and the judiciary has
nothing to interpret.
