PURPOSE: Procedure established for compliance of Electrical equipment as per Indian

Electrical rules 1956 under section 46.
SCOPE: Applicable to UNIPRES INDIA PVT LTD-Chennai
RESPONSIBILITY: Maintenance Department
PROCEDURE / INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Permission letter to be obtained from Electrical Inspector in case of installation of a new
Machine (or) Shifting of machines from one place to another place.
2) Installation shall be periodically inspected and tested at intervals not exceeding five years
either by the inspector or any officer appointed to assist the inspector.
3) After inspection electrical inspector will sent the detailed report to the supplier concern to
rectify the mentioned reports.
4) After rectification all the defects, a rectification report will be sent electrical inspectorate
before 3 months after the date of inspection.
5) The fees for such inspection and test shall be determined by the State Government and
shall be payable by the consumer in advance.
6) A supervisor/engineer will be available at the time of inspection along with supervisor
Competency certificate (C - License)
7) Electrical Inspection to be conducted once in a year as per Rule 46 by CEI.

1) Inform to Electrical Inspector to conduct the Electrical Inspection
