a.) The structure of a company


It is usually hierarchical. In this structure there is mainly a person or a
group at the top of the pyramid and several people at the bottom of it in
increasing number at each level.
The organisational structure is different in each company. It describes the
relationship between the managers and their subordinates.
At the company I work for .... there are :
Board of directors at the top with its Chairman / President
responsible for strategy and main decisions. They appoint the
CEO / Managing Director
There are different departments below which help the CEO to
achieve his goals
o marketing
o finance
o production
o R&D
o sales
o legal
o HR
o IT......
At the top of the departments there is the Senior
Management, under them the Middle Management or Junior
Managers who instruct the other employees/workers.

b.)Management and HR
The management of a company consists of the different departments
managers.
Their function is to instruct and direct the employees of their department,
to tell them what they have to do in the company to reach its goals. Giving
them feedback is also important.
A good manager:
needs to have perfect analytical ability
set the targets
good communicating
understanding
good social skills
sets high standards for the workers, expects them to work
very hard
respects the employees
intelligent, imaginative, creative
has a good problem-solving ability
self-confident
knows what he/she wants and where he/she wants to get

HR stands for HUMAN RESOURCES.


The objective of this department is to maximize employee performance in
order to achieve the companys goals. It has several functions, e.g.:

Recruitment find the perfect employee for a position


Training and development
Rewarding
Listening, understanding and motivating employees
Coordinating company changes
