USC INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SESSION
May 22-July 2 2010
The Department of French and Italian offers students the opportunity to
study Italian while living in one of the most exciting cities in the world,
Rome. No previous knowledge of Italian is required. Students take one
intensive Italian language class and have the option of enrolling in Italian
499, a two-unit class that will explore the many layers of Rome.
Excursions to nearby cities, visits to local museums and sites, and many
cultural and social events are planned and included in the cost of tuition.

Students live with an Italian family.

The six-week program is offered at the undergraduate level

Students enroll in one of the following courses:


Italian 120 Italian I 4 units
Italian 150 Italian II 4 units
Italian 220 Italian III 4 units
Italian 224 Italian Composition and Conversation 4 units
Students may also enroll in:
Italian 499 Special Topics: The Many Layers of Rome 2 units

ESTIMATED COSTS
♦ USC Tuition: $5,196 (4 units) / $7, 794 (6 units) : includes excursions
♦ Housing: Homestay accommodation: A private room in an Italian Home,
includes 4 dinners, five breakfasts per week,
€1660 (The approximate figure in USD can change)
♦ Food: $1,500 (Approximate)
♦ Misc.: $1,300 recreation, laundry, books, etc. (Approximate)
♦ Airfare: $1,500 (Approximate)
♦ Deposit: $500 Non‐Refundable, to be applied to housing costs
