The release notes summarize updates to the Novation Bass Station plug-in, including the release of a universal binary version and stereo versions of the Audio Unit plug-ins. The stereo versions were produced to work with Apple's GarageBand software since it cannot load mono plug-ins. Both mono and stereo versions can be installed but the stereo version does not provide any stereo control or advantages over the mono version except for use in GarageBand. Troubleshooting steps are provided for issues loading the Bass Station plug-in.

Release Notes - Bass Station: v1.4
There are now 2 Audio unit installers for the Bass Station BassStation and BassStationStereo. All previous versions of the Bass Station have been mono only versions. The Bass Station stereo version has been produced to specifically work with Apples Garage Band and Garage Band 2 software as this is not capable of loading mono plug-ins. Both the mono and stereo versions of the Bass Station can be installed at the same time, but the following should be noted: 1) When Garage Band is opened, a warning will appear to show that the mono version of the Bass Station cannot be loaded. 2) Any previous projects made with older versions of the Bass Station must use the mono version of the Bass Station. If the stereo version of the Bass Station is inserted on an instrument track that had settings or automation for the mono version of the Bass Station, the settings and automation other than recorded midi controller data will be lost. 3) The stereo version does not offer any stereo control so does not give any advantage over using the mono version except to load into Garage Band. If Garage Band is never going to be used, installing the stereo version of the Bass Station as well as the mono version will simply be a waste of disc space. Installing the Bass Station should not present any problems. However, occasionally under Apple OSX, the Bass Station may refuse to open a core audio error 3000 is given when attempting to open the Bass Station. If this occurs, try the following: 1) Run Disc Utility to repair disc permissions. This application is found in the applications/utilities directory 2) Open the application Terminal (again in utilities). Select the main hard drive and click the repair disc permissions button 3) Delete the file: Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/BassStation.component and delete the file Home/Library/Preferences/com.vsoft.Novation.bassstationV1.plist Empty the trash, reboot the computer and try installing the Bass Station 1.4 update again.
