o This guild is meant to be an overview and not definitive guild to all phones and
tablets.
o You use this guide as is, and no responsibility will be taken for any issues caused by
following these guidelines.

LDS Account
o First ensure that you have an LDS account. (if not follow this link and create an
account, you will need your membership number https://ldsaccount.lds.org/signin/go/membershipInfo-control.jsf)
o Log onto the church website with your LDS Account

From the Tools drop down menu at the top of the website, select Calendar
From the settings menu select Subscriptions

Select Ward Calendars


Select all of your ward calendars that you would
like to receive information for (speak to your Ward
Clerk for more information if your ward is using
these calendars)
To select click on the Status of
Unsubscribe
You can also have an email notifications if
an event has changed, just select the tick
box next under Notifications.
o Select Stake Calendars
Select the Manchester Stake Calendar by clicking on
the Status of Unsubscribe
You can also have an email notifications if an event
has changed, just select the tick box next under
Notifications.
From the settings menu select Sync
You will see the Calendar sync general instructions.
o You can sync the events in your Church calendar with your
Google, Microsoft Outlook, or iCal calendar. Updates made
to events in your Church calendar will be reflected in the
sync'd calendar. Keep in mind that any events created or
modified in Google, Microsoft Outlook, or iCal calendars will
not be reflected in your Church calendar.
o Depending on which device you are trying to configure
depends which link you need.

Select Microsoft Outlook
After selecting a device type you need to copy or record the
URL listed. Please remember that this URL is provided for your
own personal use. It should not be shared with anyone else.

Log out of the Church Website.

Outlook running on a desktop PC


o Open internet explorer and paste the URL into the browser address field.
When the dialog appears, Allow the website to open a program
Select to open the file with Microsoft Outlook if prompted.
Confirm you want to allow the program to open Outlook by selecting
Allow
Confirm you wish to allow Outlook to subscribe to the calendar and its
updates by selecting Yes

For iPhone/iPad/iMac
o While the apple iOS is similar small variants might exist, these steps were tested on
an iPad v2 and iPhone v4s
From the main menu select Settings
Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
o From Accounts select Add Account...
Select Other
From calendars select Add Subscribed Calendar
Paste (or type) URL in Server box, this is the full
URL from the Church page.
Select Next
Edit description to make it easier to identify the
Church Calendar, suggest changing it "Church"
o Select Save

Android phone and tablets


o The iCal format is not supported directly with in calendar, so a 3rd party calendar is
used.
o When you have an android device they require that you set the device up with a
Google email account.
If you care unsure of the email account, go to settings > Account and
sync on your phone, look in the manage accounts for the G account to
remind you of the email address.
Log into your Google email account via a web browser
https://accounts.google.com
On the top navigation bar select Calendar
o Once the calendar loads select the drop down next to other
Calendars On the left navigation bar
From the drop down select Add by URL
Paste (or type) URL in URL: box, this is the full URL
from the Church page.
Select Add Calendar
o It might be worth going through the calendar setting to
ensure you are happy with them.
o As this account is already set up on your device the calendar should start to sync at
your next sync cycle.
If you have any problems check you setting select the Google account and
check that it is set to sync Calendar.

Windows Phone and Tablet


o The iCal format is not supported directly, so a 3rd party calendar is used.
While other 3rd party calendars can be used, I have chosen to use
outlook.com (Hotmail) for this guide.
If you dont have an outlook.com account please go here and create one.
o Browse to http://www.outlook.com
Sign into outlook webmail
From the Outlook logo drop down on the top left select Calendar
From the top menu select Subscribe

Ensure that Subscribe to a public Calendar is selected


Paste (or type) URL in Calendar URL: box, this is the full
URL from the Church page.
o Give the Calendar an appropriate name in Calendar name:
i.e. Church; Dont worry too much about the colour or
charm as this is only displayed in the outlook.com calendar.
o Select Subscribe to calendar
Optional - If you select the calendar you have created in the left
menu there is a Notifications section that allow you to create a daily
email that will send you a daily schedule.
Log out off outlook.com
On a Windows 7 Phone.
Go to settings
Select email+accounts
o Select Add an account
Select Windows Live
Enter the email address for your
outlook.com (live/Hotmail etc) account.
Enter the password for the account.
Select sign in
o Once the account has synchronised with your device you are
able to go back in and select what is synchronised.
On a Windows 8 Tablet
Go to Calendar
Select Settings
o Select Accounts
Add an account and Select Outlook
Enter the email address for your account.
Enter the password for the account.
Select Connect
o Close Accounts and Settings.
