VALLEYLINK TO LAUNCH COMPUTER CLASSES FOR LOUISVILLE SENIORS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2014) -- ValleyLINK Communications is launching a new program
that aims to improve senior citizens cognitive health through teaching basic computer skills to
Louisville senior citizens. SeniorLINK, which is backed by local businesses and organizations, is
designed to increase seniors socialization with distant friends and family through computer use.
HealthWay Pharmacies, Inc., The Foundation for Senior Action and The Louisville Health
Relations Office helped make SeniorLINK affordable by donating computers, printers and funds
to the program. SeniorLINK participants will learn to use email, social networking sites and
gaming sites to stimulate mental cognition.
SeniorLINK is meant to integrate senior citizens into todays technological society, said
ValleyLINK President, Lou Anderson. We are excited to bring together the Louisville
community to promote positive attitudes in our seniors.
Sessions will take place at Louisville Health Senior Centers and Senior Centers Coalition
Centers. Volunteering tutors include students from Central College and teachers from Louisville
public school systems.
The first SeniorLINK session will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the Louisville
Health Senior Center on West Market Street. Interested participants can sign up on the
