Yangzi River. It is an estimated 3,395 miles. It flows through nine provinces, and empties in the Bohia Sea. The Yellow River is also called the cradle of Chinese civilization. Yangzi River: This is literally The Long River. It is the longest river in China and is 3,915 miles long. It acts as a dividing line between North and South China. Like many rivers, the river is known by different names over its course. Turpan Depression: This is a fault located around and south of the city of Turpan. The basin is a fault-bounded trough located in eastern part of the Tian Shan. The Turpan Basin is formed in a shear zone. In the center of the basin lies the Ayding Lake which is very deep.
