Demographic Reflection Form Notes

Demographic Reflection Form 1:

So far in my field experience in a pre-school class, I have worked with the children in
many different ways. One way in which I have worked with the children is through reading
many different stories to them. I have also facilitated many games with the children, such as
Simon says, I spy, and musical chairs. When we played Simon says, it took some time for the
children to understand how they only follow what the leader does when the leader says Simon
says beforehand. After a while, though, most of them understood what to do. I facilitated
different art activities as well, by helping some children make rainbows and stop lights. I also
talked to some children about their pictures when they were finger painting, and they described
the pictures they were creating. I assisted a child one on one with fine-motor skills by helping
her with drawing different traffic signs. I have also assisted the teachers with giving the children
snacks, and helping the children in library.
Demographic Reflection Form 2:
Throughout my field experience I was given many opportunities to work with the
preschool students in my classroom. One way that I have worked with the children is by helping
tutor children at the writing center during the center time. I chose site words for the children to
read and then write on a dry erase board. If a child did not know what the word was, then I
would help them sound out the word. I helped facilitate different centers as well; when it was
Dr. Seuss week, I facilitated a center where the children played with green goop. During free

time in the classroom, I have also led a few games of Simon Says. After a few rounds, the
children began to understand the concept of the game. Once they knew what to do the children
surprisingly began to become very good at playing the game. I have read many books to the
children as well, and have helped my teacher prepare and hand out snacks for the children.
