Frequently Asked Questions


1) How soon can I reserve the building?
Up to 18 months in advance.
2) How do I reserve the building for my specific date?
You sign a contract and pay the $800 rental fee and a $200 refundable cleaning deposit. The deposit will be
refunded to you by mail no later than two weeks after your event. Any damage to the building caused by you
or your guests will be deducted from this deposit.
4) How many people does the building accommodate?
About 200 dining guests sitting down at the same time
5) How many tables and chairs are available?
About 10 5 ROUND tables, 12 8X2.5 RECTANGULAR tables, and about 200 banquet style stackable chairs. You
can fit 8 guests per table. Youll find the chairs piled up against the wall. The rectangular and round tables are
inside the closet in the lobby. There is also a small round table you may use to put the cake.
6) How early can I come in the building?
8 am the day of your event.
7) How late can I stay?
At 2 am the building must be cleaned, vacated and locked up
8) Can I come in sometime before my event to rehearse?
No. You will have access to the building only during YOUR rental time (8am to 2 in the morning the next day)
9) Can I leave some items in the building and come pick them up the next day?
No. We are not responsible for any items you leave behind and you will lose items you dont remove.
10) What address do I put on the invitations?
Garden Center at Sugarhouse Park, 1602 East 2100 South SLC, UT 84106.
11) What can we use in the kitchen?
You can use the 2 conventional ovens and stove, 2 microwaves, 1 electrical food warmers, and the fridge. You
may warm up the food but you must bring it already cooked. Make sure to clean everything you use after you
are done. There are washcloths and garbage bags in the second drawer to the left of the oven.
12) Can we use the back (South) garden?
You may use the back garden to take pictures. Make sure there is no garbage left behind on the lawn or patio.
13) How do I lock up the building?
Back glass doors, lock up by turning the knob.
Kitchen door, must be completely shut.
Front door, locks by pushing the slider back.
14) What must I do to avoid additional fees?

You must make sure kids do NOT play in the FRONT (North) garden. You will be financially responsible
for any damage to the plants.
You must make sure the white round table in the lobby IS NOT MOVED. You must leave the lobby the
way it is. No rearranging.
You must sweep the floor.

Wipe off the counters, microwaves, etc.


Empty all the trash, including the cans in the restrooms, and take it to the containers located in the
parking lot.
Pile up chairs against South wall. Do not close the tables.
Remove ALL your belongings (including balloons, dcor, etc.)
Lock up ALL doors
Drop the key in the black mail box located on the office door.

15) Where is the broom closet?


Brooms, mops, etc. are located inside the double door closet located in the lobby
16) If I bring a DJ, where can he set up his equipment?
The DJ must set up in the South room against the West wall. Youll notice 2 silver outlets. Those are 220 Volts.
17) Where is the light switch for the track lighting in the main hall?
There is a grey electrical panel in the hallway across the women restroom. When you open it up, youll see 3
orange stickers indicating which switches turn on the lights. Do not touch anything else in that panel.
18) Do you require us to have security?
You may bring security if youd like but we do not require it.
19) If I have a question that is not listed on this paper, who could I contact?
