    tappingleadsandterminals,withstandthetemporaryovervoltagestowhichthetransformermay
    besubjectedduringitslifetime.

    PERFORMANCE
    Theexcitationvoltageisappliedtotheterminalsofthelowvoltagewinding.Theotherwindings
    areleftopencircuited.
    Thedurationofthetestis:

    ratedfrequency.120seconds
    testfrequency
    Thetestissuccessfulifnocollapseofthetestvoltageoccurs.
    Thetestvoltageconnectionisessentiallythesameasinservice.Athreephasewindingistested
    withsymmetricalthreephasevoltageinducedinthephasewindings.Ifthewindinghasaneutral
    terminal,maybeitisearthedduringthetest.

    Thetestvoltageistwicetheratedvoltage.However,thevoltagedevelopedbetweenline
    terminalsofanywindingshallnotexceedtheratedshortdurationpowerfrequencywithstand
    voltage.

    Thevoltageismeasuredbetweenterminalsofthelowvoltagewindingusingavoltmeterat
    r.s.m.value.Thevoltageissoadjusted,thattheaveragetothevoltagevaluemeasuredbetween
    terminalsisequaltotherequiredtestvoltagevalue.
