The inaugural conference will be held at the innovative Penryn Campus in Cornwall, on the 7th of
March. The first of its kind in the Southwest, the conference will bring together students for a
day of presentations, debate and lively discussion on queer studies to encourage discourse
between established academics and scholars at an early, developmental stage of their academic
careers. This conference will be of particular interest to students who aspire to become
professional academics, but we welcome submissions from any undergraduate, MA, and PhD
students with an interest in queer studies. Whilst formal papers are the anticipated focus of the
event, we will also be interested in receiving works in other media, including photographic or
picture-based artwork, short films, presentations, or creative writing. Interdisciplinarity is the
central theme for the conference, and therefore we are seeking submissions both within and
between a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to the social sciences, humanities, and
the arts. The conference committee cordially invites the submission of 200 word abstracts for
presentations of approximately 20 minutes in length by Friday 23rd January, 2015.
