    Encouragingresultshavebeenyieldedbyeffortstogivepermanencytolivelihoodofselfhelpgroupsbydevelopingminimumone
    cluster in 15 districts covered under District Poverty Initiative Project. These include clusters of poultry, dairy, garment making,
    doormatandcarpetmaking,coalbrickettes,incensesticks,vegetablecultivation,handloompaperplates,napkinsetc.
    Turmericisbeinggrowninabout300acreincooperationwith600farmersthisyearinSagardistrictundertheproject.Automaticturmericprocessing
    machinehasalsobeenprovidedtothedistrict.Initiativehasbeentakentogrow'barseem'asanimalfodderwithaviewtoincreasingmilkproductionin
    Shivpuridistrict.ThisinformationwasgivenatameetingchairedbyProjectCoordinatorLMBelwaltoday.
    Itwasinformedatthemeetingthat44AjeevikaFreshshowroomshavebeenopenedatprominentplacesinthedistrictsundertheprojecttoenable
    membersofvegetablegrowinggroupstoearnhandsomeprofitthroughsaleoffreshvegetables.
    Belwal directed to accord top priority to providing bank linkage to selfhelp groups and complete activities of forming selfhelp groups by June by
    organisingmaximumnumberofpoorwomeninselfhelpgroupsandassociatethemwithlivelihoodactivities.Hedirectedtoensurebenefitsofsocial
    securitypensiontoalleligiblebeneficiariesandtheirfamilies.
    Amongprescribedprioritiesoftheproject,over57,000toiletsarebeingconstructedandover36,500smokelesschulhashavebeenconstructedandtheir
    use ensured. As villagelevel organisations of these groups, 3,506 Gram Uthhan Samitis have been constituted. Savings upto Rs22 crore have been
    mobilisedforwomenmembersofthegroup.BanklinkageofoverRs17.29crorehasbeenprovidedtothegroups.
    ItwasinformedatthemeetingthatafterimpartingtrainingunderemploymentorientedpolicyoftheStateGovernment,DPIPisalsolinkingruralyouths
    withemploymentresources.Lastyear,19,618youthswereimpartedtraininginvarioustrades.
    Worktolinktrainedyouthswithemploymentisbeingdoneonregularbasis.Joboffershavebeengiventoover25,800trainedyouthsthroughjobfairs.
    Atthemeeting,RewaDistrictProjectManagerDPSinghwascongratulatedforreceivingSushilChandraVeraAwardforExcellence.
