SPANISH

January 5-9, 2015

ESPAOL

Dear Parents,
After Winter break, our students in the 3-4 and 5-6 classrooms will be working on a Cultural
Spanish Project during the month of January/February. Students are allowed to research a cultural tradition
in any Spanish speaking country and will later present it to their classmates. These traditions could include,
but are not limited to:
Holidays
Foods
Clothing
Rituals
Traditions in the home
During the week of presentations (hopefully) the last week in January to first week in February, students are
allowed to bring in any traditional foods that they may have studied or that are related to their project. This
will coincide with the La Comida (Foods) segment they had been learning in November. We will not be
having a celebration of these traditions, rather celebrating our knowledge of Spanish so far this school year!

Our Primary and 1-2 Classes will continue to learn Spanish with Montessori
methods while taking a deeper focus on the verb "I have" (Tener), the saying
"How are you" (Como estas) with appropriate responses, and a new lesson on
shapes vocabulary!
