DAY 1 DEPART FOR SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
Greet fellow delegates in your departure city before boarding your flight.
DAY 2 EN ROUTE TO SYDNEY
Skip a day as you cross the International Date Line.
DAY 3 BACKSTAGE AT SYDNEYS ICONIC OPERA HOUSE
YOU ARE HERE: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
Welcome to Sydney, Australias largest city and the capital of New South Wales!
At Sydney airport, meet your delegation manager, a local expert who will be your destination guide (and
source of endless information!) for your journey.
Play cricket where the pros do when you visit the Sydney Cricket Ground, a 46,000-seat stadium that is
home of the New South Wales Blues cricket team. This is a hands-on opportunity to play cricket using
the same training nets used by the professionals.
Discover Darling Harbor, a lively recreational and pedestrian precinct located at beautiful Cockle Bay.
Get a backstage pass to the world-famous Sydney Opera House. Enter areas that are not accessible to the
public during an exclusive guided orientation of this iconic facility, a masterpiece of late-modern
architecture.
DAY 4 EXPLORE SYDNEY'S HARBOR
YOU ARE HERE: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
Students entering grades 912 will take a sky walk at Sydney Tower. Harness yourself in for a
breathtaking walk around the outside of the Sydney Tower, a lofty 850 feet above Sydney. Soak up
birds-eye views of the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the Sydney Opera House, and the magnificent
metropolitan area.
Students entering grades 68, won't participate in the sky walk, but they will enjoy a front-row seat for
views of stunning downtown Sydney.
All ages will enjoy a boat cruise through the heart of this magnificent city on Sydney Harbor, marveling
at iconic landmarks including Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.
Later, examine and handle exquisite opal, Australias national gemstone, during a cutting and polishing
demonstration at an opal establishment.
DAY 5 RAPPEL DOWN AN EXPOSED ROCK FACE
YOU ARE HERE: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Rise and prepare to sharpen your mental focus and challenge your physical fortitude as you participate
in Full On, a day-long program specially designed to inspire personal growth in People to People
delegates.
Boost your confidence and self-awareness during Full On interactive workshops that promise to get your
heart poundinglike rappelling down an exposed rock face in the Blue Mountains!
DAY 6 THE ULTIMATE AUSTRALIAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
YOU ARE HERE: BELLINGEN, AUSTRALIA
Journey north through rural New South Wales to Coffs Harbor, home of surf beaches, fishing operations,
and banana plantations. As you travel, be sure to keep your eye out for kangaroos, which are often seen
in groups or mobs, as well as other exotic wildlife native to the Down Under.
Meet your homestay family as youre welcomed into their home. Youll learn more about the local
culture during the next two days than you ever imagined as youre immersed in local activities, cuisine,
and culture. Its the ultimate Australian experience!
DAY 7 DISCOVER WHAT IT'S LIKE TO LIVE LIFE AS AN AUSSIE
YOU ARE HERE: BELLINGEN, AUSTRALIA
Nurture lifetime friendships as your home stay continues. This is your opportunity to experience
everyday life in Australia and meet locals. Past experiences have included attending school with a
student, and participating in culturally immersive activities with family members and their friends.
DAY 8 EXPERIENCE THE JEWEL OF QUEENSLANDS GOLD COAST
YOU ARE HERE: SURFERS PARADISE, AUSTRALIA
Bid farewell to your home stay family and cross the border into Queensland, known as the Sunshine
State. This unique climate includes sandy beaches, national park forests, vast plains, lush tropical
rainforests, forested mountains, massive wilderness areas, and the natural wonder that is the Great
Barrier Reef.
Have a rockin good time at the Hard Rock Caf, and check out its fascinating collection of music
memorabilia.
Appreciate the skyscrapers, iconic beaches, and sparkling surf that make up the lively metropolis of
Surfers Paradise, one of the worlds most dynamic urban beach destinations, located on the famed Gold
Coast.
DAY 9 STUDY SEA LIFE WITH MARINE BIOLOGISTS
YOU ARE HERE: MORETON ISLAND, AUSTRALIA
Today visit Brisbane, the capital of Queensland and Australias third most populous city.

Dubbed Australias new world city, you will see the Brisbane River, Botanic Gardens, Anzac Square
Memorial and numerous historical buildings including the Parliament House, old treasury building, and
Queensland University of Technology.
Board a ferry for Tangalooma Resort, home to a playful pod of wild bottlenose dolphins.
Learn about the marine life of the surrounding coastal area from a dedicated team of marine biologists at
the Tangalooma Marine Center on Moreton Island, which is 95% national park.
DAY 10 SNORKEL WITH WOBBEGONGS AND HAND-FEED WILD DOLPHINS
YOU ARE HERE: MORETON ISLAND, AUSTRALIA
Gear up and snorkel near one of the most famous landmarks on Moreton Island, the Tangalooma wrecks:
15 vessels that have been deliberately sunk on the landward side of the island to provide a break wall for
small boats. The wrecks attract an amazing amount of marine life, including wobbegongs (also known as
carpet sharks), trevally, kingfish, yellowtail, and tons of tropical fish.
Go sand tobogganing on the islands giant sand dunes.
Hand feed Moreton Islands pod of wild bottlenose dolphins.
Assist marine biologists with the Dolphin Care Team in their research. Youll help collect data and
record your observations of the dolphins behavior and appearance.
DAY 11 RIDE THE WAVES ON THE SUN-DRENCHED SUNSHINE COAST
YOU ARE HERE: KATHERINE, AUSTRALIA
Say goodbye to your island getaway this morning before traveling north to the Sunshine Coast,
stretching some 40 miles. This stunning coastline was given its name because the sun shines almost all
year round.
Hit the waves! Take to the water at a pristine Australian beach and try your hand at surfing after
receiving instruction from surfer gurus.
DAY 12 DONATE SUPPLIES TO STUDENTS AT RURAL SCHOOL
YOU ARE HERE: YEPPOON, AUSTRALIA
Visit the small community of Gin Gin, nicknamed Wild Scotsman Country due to the capture of one
of Queenslands few bushrangers, James Alpin McPherson, in the area on March 30, 1866.
Interact with students at the Gin Gin School, where funds raised through hosting years of People to
People delegates has resulted in construction of the P&C Friendship Pavilion, named Friendship.
Donate supplies to grateful students at a community school.
Hit the road again on the Bruce Highway to Rockhampton. Located on the Tropic of Capricorn,
Rockhampton is considered the capital of Australias beef industry, producing about 18 million head per
year.

Tonight, arrive at the seaside township of Yeppoon, gateway to the Capricorn Coast, a quiet yet vibrant
location with its pristine beaches and shallow coves.
DAY 13 DARE TO LOOK A CROCODILE STRAIGHT IN THE EYE
YOU ARE HERE: YEPPOON, AUSTRALIA
Discover Olsens Capricorn Caves, a unique system of above-ground caves in a limestone ridge that are
renowned for their unspoiled beauty and unique natural formations.
Learn about Australian government during an exclusive briefing with a government representative.
Tonight, walk on the wild side at a crocodile farm where you will have the opportunity to spot crocodiles
lurking in the dark, murky waters.
DAY 14 WITNESS AUSTRALIAS VAST AND VARIED SCENERY
YOU ARE HERE: AIRLIE BEACH, AUSTRALIA
Pass through Mackay, a major center for the sugar cane industry in Australia. Did you know that
Australia is the 3rd largest supplier of raw sugar in the world with production reaching $2.5 billion
annually?
Make your way to Airlie Beach, the gateway to the 74 Whitsunday Islands on the amazing Great Barrier
Reef.
DAY 15 SAMPLE CROCODILE CHOWDER DURING YOUR FARM STAY
YOU ARE HERE: CHARTERS TOWERS, AUSTRALIA
Explore a wildlife sanctuary and encounter Australias unique fauna, such as koalas, kangaroos,
crocodiles, and wombats. Cuddle with an adorable koala and have your photo taken!
Observe the changing vistas from the coast to the Outback during your scenic journey west along the
inland highway before arriving at your farm stay, outside the historical gold mining town of Charters
Towers. Gold was discovered by chance at Towers Hill on Christmas Eve, 1871, by a 12-year-old
Aboriginal boy.
Meet your farm stay hosts and enjoy country hospitality when you feast on a home-cooked meal that
may include crocodile chowder, prawns, and traditional Aussie meat pie.
DAY 16 EXPERIENCE HANDS-ON LIFE AS FARM HAND

Enjoy a full day of activities in the Outback, exploring the bush, spotting wildlife, and observing flora.
Witness firsthand what it takes to manage an Australian farm, working alongside your host family as you
experience their daily life, learn to crack a bullwhip, and participate in an environmental cleanup project.
DAY 17 DISCOVER THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

Pass through Townsville, the official capital of Far North Queensland, on your way to Cairns, the
northern-most destination of your Australian adventure!
Welcome to Cairns! This coastal cosmopolitan city is nestled in northern Queensland amid two of
Australias most treasured World Heritage destinationsthe Wet Tropics Rainforest and the worlds
largest living organism, the Great Barrier Reef!
DAY 18 SWIM WITH EXOTIC SEA LIFE ALONGSIDE A MARINE BIOLOGIST
YOU ARE HERE: CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA
Cruise across pristine waters to the Great Barrier Reef.
Take a plunge and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef alongside marine biologists, coming into contact with
brightly colored tropical fish, giant clams, and an amazing array of soft and hard coral of every
imaginable color.
Have questions about the reef or its inhabitants? Ask away! Youll get answers from the marine biologist
that exclusively joins your delegation for this experience.
DAY 19 HURL SPEARS WITH ABORIGINAL PEOPLE
YOU ARE HERE: CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA
Enjoy a birds-eye view of a tropical rainforest as you ride the Skyrail Rainforest cableway that spans 4.6
miles over pristine tropical rainforest.
Glide just meters above the rainforest on the cableway before descending through the canopy layers
deep into the heart of the forest as you explore one of the most botanically fascinating and diverse areas
on Earth.
Be immersed in the Aboriginal culture with a demonstration of Aboriginal traditional dance, boomerang
and spear throwing, as well as an introduction to Aboriginal history.
Explore the Cairns Night Markets, a lively emporium for all things unique and Australian, for lastminute souvenirs.
DAY 20 DEPART FOR THE U.S.
Board the coach to the airport for your return flight to the United States.
