    Week of January 12th
    What Were Learning
    Reading: We will be comparing and contrasting similar
    books. We have started reading Mr. Poppers Penguins as
    a class.

    Writing: We will be working on opinion writing. We will


    start by learning how to write an opinion about a book
    that we have read.
    Math: We will start learning how to tell time. We will also
    do some reviewing since our Math time is affected by the
    SLO Assessments.
    Social Studies: We have begun a unit on civil rights. We
    will continue to learn about Martin Luther King Jr. next
    week.

    Classroom News & Reminders

    * The 2nd Grade Performance has been moved to


    February 5th during the PTA Meeting. It was
    originally scheduled for March 5th. More details
