1. What is a URL? Give examples.


A web address is the identifying address for a file, or webpage, on the internet. Typing a web
address into the browser bar, or address bar, allows you to access this file on the internet.
Another word or web address is URL. Some examples would be http://www.learnthenet.com,
http://www.google.com, http://wikipidea.com, https://www.wikipedia.org/, and
https://www.toni-lindsay.weebly.com.

2. What are the parts of a Web address? What does each part mean?
The first part of a URL (for example: http or ftp) tells you the type of resource or method of
access at that address. The second part is typically the address of the computer where the data
or service is located. Additional parts may specify the name of a file, the port to connect to, or
the text to search for in a database

3. What is a domain name? What does it indicate?


A domain name is the part of a network address that identifies it as belonging to a particular
domain. A domain name always has two or more parts separated by dots and typically consists
of some form of an organization's name and a three letter or more suffix. For example.com
which is for businesses and commercial enterprises. Also.edu which is for educational
institutions and universities, .info, for informational sites, .net for networks; usually reserved
for organizations such as Internet service providers, and .org which is for non-commercial
organizations.

4. Where are web pages stored?


Web pages are stored in web servers. A web server can refer to either the physical hardware, a
computer system that runs special software designed to handle Internet traffic, or the software
itself.

5. How can you save a web address?


To save a web page, go to Bookmarks or Favorites on the menu bar and click on Add to... When
you open your list, the title of the page you added will appear at the bottom of the list. To
access the page, double-click on the title.
