    Why do we read? Why do we write?


    Some reasons may be to learn from those who have gone before us, to enlighten those who
    come after us,and to help us understand and survive the moments we are living through.
    Literature can offer complementary perspectives on the facts we may learn, and helps
    broaden our understanding of a given time period.
    This course takes a look at the Romantic period in English literature and attempts ro relate some
    written work to the time in which is was produced.
