Reading Reflection Lamentations 1; Isaiah 1-6, 51-56; Jeremiah 31; Hosea 1-4, 14

At that time; the crops given by the Lord will bring admiration and honor; the produce of
the land will be a source of pride and delight to those who remain in Israel. In the year
of King Uzziahs death, I saw the sovereign master seated on a high, elevated throne.
The hem of his robe filled the temple. Seraphs stood over him; each one had six wings.

This scene is very interesting, because we see Isaiah depict a common theme

that we have seen throughout the Old Testament. The contrast between Yahweh's
holiness and the sinful state into which the Judean kingdom has fallen is something that
calls for immediate action. I think that Isaiah attacked this problem, and I think its
important to realize his leadership in raising this issue. Isaiah knows that as a prophet
he must bridge the gap between the people and God. He has an important job, which is
try to get people to put their faith in God.
