PTA

PTA Board

A Warm Welcome!
Its the beginning of a new school year and the Parent Teacher
Association would like to take this opportunity to welcome all new and
returning parents/carers. This newsletter is to introduce the PTA
committee, outline the PTAs aims and objectives and seek your support
over the coming year.
The PTA is simply a group of parents and teachers who meet up to
discuss potential activities that can raise funds for the school for the
benefit of pupils. The PTA is always looking to vary the activities and
events offered and all new ideas are welcome.
Thank you to all those attended our first PTA meeting of the year on the
1st October. It was lovely to welcome lots of new faces and to confirm
the new committee, this year we have representatives from each year
group. Thank you also to the many people who have offered to support
the committee as volunteers - we really appreciate your time and you
play a vital role in the smooth running of events and activities.

Chair: Sophie McGregor

Treasurer: Lisa Cox
Secretary: Karen Owen
Please welcome our new Vices, a very
appreciated addition to the team:
Vice Chair: Claire Peters
Vice Treasurer: Ros Humphries
Vice Secretary: Wendy Tucker

Our Fundraising Aim

Updates

Last year with your support we raised 2460. This money was
used to create a nicer outside environment for our children by
purchasing playground markings for the top playground.
This years fundraising target is 3000 and our efforts will be
used to continue improving the outdoor space for the children.
Money raised is to be split into 2 pots:

a certain percentage for immediate spend on smaller

outside projects e.g. dens, bird boxes, benches,
Playground markings etc. so that parents can see money
being spent and enjoyed.
a certain percentage on a long term more expensive
spend e.g. outside staging, minibus!

Event: Macmillan Coffee Morning

Organised By: Nadia Yakub
The Macmillan Coffee morning and Used Uniform
Shop on Friday 26th September was great success.
It was lovely to meet new parents from reception and
catch up with those from Y1&2. We received some
delicious cakes and managed to generate 241.11
for Macmillan Cancer!

Event: Highworth Triathlon
Organised By: Wendy Tucker
This year we have already raised an amazing 910
through the Highworth Triathlon. On Sunday 14th
September, 40 parents, teachers and friends/family
of the school took part in a 400m swim, 20k bike
and 5k run. It was tough, there was sweat and
maybe even a few tears but it was a brilliant day! The
Croft Primary School really does have some fantastic
athletic talent! Well done to everyone involved and to
the generous sponsors! We even picked up a trophy
for the winning the team relay!
