we could be future writers

with the help of our English

words of wisdom.

WE WRITE A STORY
WHEN SOMETHING GOES
WRONG
Students from years 7- 13
were audience to the Canadian childrens writer, Mr
Richard Swingers, visit to
school.
We learnt from him that a
wonderful arousing story
begins when something
goes wrong and a story
was lousy when nothing
went wrong. He included
that many authors steal
peoples names, habits and
characters which make a
fictional story. Youve got
to write a story with a
bunch of lies was what he
told us.

read a chapter from his book
called The Nose from Jupiter and we were inspired
by his flooding of imagination.

where we got to believe that

ORGANIC FARMING

On the 18th of November,

certain girls and boys from
year 11 and sixth form
were brought down to the
Multiplus for a workshop.
The person who conducted
the whole session was Ms.
Sonya, the marketing head
of Organic Foods and Caf.
Before she started, she
showed us two videos
which depicted the production of animals and how

they were really sent out into

the market and a video about
organic farming. With that, she
started the session by creating
an awareness about what was
in the food that we get from
our nearest groceries and how
products that were labeled
organic arent either organic
or it contained some amount of
pesticides. Many discussions
were initiated such as the real

production of beefs and

chicken, how to check if a
product is really organic,
the effects if a farmer plans
to move to organic cultivation and many other things.
To commemorate the end
of the workshop, a group
photo was taken and we
were given an organic orange juice along with a
flyer about their organization.

GEMS REVIEW INSPECION: A STUDENTS POINT OF VIEW

It was unreal how fast the GEMS Review Week had come and gone, it
feels as though the week had only
started yesterday. We learnt a lot of
new things through activities and by
watching videos, this increased our
understanding in those topics. And
our math teacher was very pleased
with the result she got after our class
was observed. She said that the inspector really liked our class and
hearing that, our class was filled with
happiness which also led to our math

teacher to encouraging us to keep up

the good work. But as always, things
have come to an end, and the 18th of
November marked the end of the
Gems Review Week and we hope to
get the best out of it.
May the odds be ever in our favor.
