Macrostructures a discussion on architecture and landscape.

Abstract
The landscape of the 21st Century has brought the legacy of the urban sprawl and the report
change between human and nature. The excessive anthropization of the landscape means not
only the extension of the city, but also the usage of the natural resources in different
technological processes, or necessary infrastructure for mobility.
Architecture was always an instrument of force expression and impairment of the human
scale. The gothic cathedrals, citadels and palaces are macrostructures that marked different
stages from architecture history, generating specific landscapes through the particularity of
constructive details, but also through the transmitted image and message.
Today we are speaking about mobility infrastructures, intermodal nodes, sportive parks, urban
towers, industrial, wind or photovoltaic parks. The citadel has lost its limits, blending in the
great landscape; the cathedrals have lost their message in the new urban image.
Switching from human scale to territorial scale becomes subtle because of the mobility,
because of the report change between natural space and built space. City in landscape or
landscape in city, architecture in nature or nature within architecture, have become attitude,
beyond the interaction that once meant subordination and integration.
Natural landscape is model, resource and development framework, urban landscape is
express, technology and progress. Where are the limits between? When does the report
become fragile and threatening? Where integration is changing the dominion report?
The architecture becomes macrostructural when the perception scale exceeds human scale.
The report is different from the city to the great landscape, generating contextual discussions
depending on frame of reputation, usage, impact. Anthropic insertion, the macrostructure
develops particular relations with the landscape urban or natural, in which the dialogue
implies aspects connected to scale, image, perception.
