The activities supporting these core areas include team building, strategic thinking, project management, film making, audio production, promoting, writing, effective listening, public speaking and ethics “Unsung Hera" host Christina Redriquex: TRAINING PROGRAMS After Sch: Mullimedio & Leadership for Youth is an ongoing after school program offered fo youth of all ages. The main focus of this program is to help develop them into mullimedia production Jeams with producers, co-producers, cast and crew. They have opportunities to advance into leadership roles by working with group projecis, local organizations and businesses. Aller school sessions are scheduled weekdays only. (Fee by request) Digital Media Summer Camp Orgonizations may host summer camps. During the camp parlicipants create their own video production as well as parlicipate in a group project. They will be guided through a creative process that includes written, visual and oral presentations. They will also learn how to use the Internet and social media for marketing and distribution. (Fee by reques!) s y Group Sessions Organizations may offer a six weekend series of scheduled workshops fo their youth members. These two-hour sessions include creative development, public speaking, and a final three-minute digital movie. Porticipants will learn to use their own Smart Phones and Tablets for video, audio production and graphic design (Fee $110 per 2 hour session, minimum 6 weekly sessions) Two-hour workshops are offered as an introductory program This is an intense and fun session. Parficipants are guided through a creative process that tokes them from idea generation to an action plan and finol oral presentation. They are also introduced to various media and technology. (No charge) Rowan Radio Internship The Rowan Radio internship is a six-week program scheduled twice a year. Interns participate in the live broadcast of 'The ‘American Dream’ and 'Young America Spiritual Leaders’ radio shows at the station in Glassboro. A public service ‘announcement is produced by each youth as a final product and aired via Sound Cloud. This program is offered by invitation or referral only, Youth are viewed as potential team members. (No charge. By referral or invitation only) LEADERSHIP RECOGNITION & SPECIALIST HONORS The ‘Multimedia & Leadership for Youth’ program offers opportunities for leadership advancement based on their performance in the areas of responsibility, reliability and productivity of each youth. Age is not a factor for advancement. * Level 1 Beginner Trainee * Level 2 Production Team Member * Level 3 Mentorship * Level 4 Co producer/Assistant Director (Co-trainer) * Level 5 Producer/Director (Trainer/Specialis!) media Honors ‘As youlh progress they may specialize in any of the following Co-host The American Dream’ areas. (Honors are based on the number and quolity of completed projects, which are used to build digital portfolios, websites and blogs.) Media Power (Multimedia Production) Media Power will give participants an intense orientation of the power of Digital media and Internet communications. They will learn how digital media shapes society. They will gain an ‘ understanding of how the written and spoken word, graphics, photography, video, music and sound effecis are used on the Internet fo deliver messages that influence behavior. ‘On Target! (Media Research) Being 'On Target’ in media and communications means knowing your business and your audience, Parlicipants learn how to assess their target audience in order to create messages that meet their goals. Writing for Digital Media Pariicipants will learn to write for digital media They will create short stories, narratives, presentations, news releases, scriots, public service announcements, and promotional copy. WOW Graphics (Visual Media) This portion of the program iniroduces the youth to visual communications including graphic design, photography and motion graphics Parlicipanis will learn how to create logos, dynamic images and digital backgrounds. Sound Off (Vocal Expression) Parlicipants will focus on vocal communications and audio production. This portion introduces voice acting to the youth as well os sloryielling, narrating and voice-overs. Theyll learn fo enrich their messages with special effects and music. Digital Millennium (Social Media) "Digital Millennium" focuses on using social media as a tool for getiing the word out.
