What is Matter ?
Matter, in science, general term applied to
anything that has the property of occupying space
and the attributes of gravity and inertia.
State of a Matter
In physics, a state
of matter is one of
the distinct forms
that matter takes
on..
Liquids
Aliquidis made up of tiny
vibrating particles ofmatter,
suchasatoms,heldtogether
byintermolecularbonds.
Solid
Matterin
thesolidstate
maintains a fixed volume and
shape, with component particles
(atoms, molecules or ions) close
togetherandfixedintoplace.
Gas
A gas is a compressible
fluid. Not only will a gas
conformtotheshapeofits
container but it will also
expandtofillthecontainer.
Properties of Matter
Dark matter
Dark
matter
is
still
unidentified that makes
about 23 percent of the
universe .
Remember:
Astronomersthinkthere is even more matter in
the universe than we can see. The matter we
see makes up gas, dust, galaxies, stars, and
planets. Astronomers think there is a type of
invisible matter that they call dark matter. They
think there may be a lot more of this mysterious
dark matter in the universe than there is regular
matter that we can see.
