The scheme on micro irrigation which was launched since 1986-87
has been up scaled tobe implemented as the “National Mission on
‘Micro rrgation (NMMI" during the 11th plan period. Maharashtra
isthe leading State with 6.95 lakh ha. Area under Drip & 2.99 lakh
ha, Area under sprinkler irrigation, The subsidy assistance for small
& marginal farmers willbe 60% and other farmers willbe 30% of the
cost of mieroirigaion systems to horticulture & non-horticulture
crops. Assistance willbe limited up o ha perbenefciary nowaday.
