SYNOPSIS

GSM is the best mobile communication system used in present days. In India
most of the subscribers (above 75%) are using GSM system. It was a good experience to
get training at ADA Cellworks. I was a part of IBS (In Building Solution) team.

IBS is the very important thing for the indoor coverage solution. It deals with
work like LOS survey, indoor coverage survey, planning for the antenna type and location
and report of the survey, etc.

LOS survey is the first and foremost process when new site is to be planned
weather for outdoor site or indoor site. It is very interesting and critical process. Also the
Fresnel zone clearance is required. I have done many LOS surveys in IBS.

In ADA Cellworks there are other different fields like Transmission, Optimization, Drive
Test, and Network Plannig. This all fields are also interesting.

The link engineering part is also equally important. ADA Cellworks uses link
planner developed by Nokia called NetAct. I used this software extensively for link
planning. In this software I can enter co-ordiantes of particular site and then create link
between two sites. I can set all link parameters like ODU, IDU, antenna size and type,
polarization, Tx power etc. The software performs link engineering and gives me the
most accurate results. I have also performed this link engineering manually to get the
basic knowledge of it.

I really enjoyed my training at ADA Cellworks and the knowledge which I got is
really precious and will be very helpful to me in my career.
