Sketchbooks

A sketchbook is an essential tool for an

artist! It is used to develop and refine
ideas, practice drawing techniques,
record steps and procedures, collect
pictures or reference materials, plus
much more. Generally, a sketchbook is
an artists creative thinking /
visualization journal.
During this class, sketchbooks will serve several purposes.
Students will use them to:
Record notes
Brainstorm and workout ideas
Practice techniques
In addition to the above mentioned items, you are required to
have 25 quality drawings in your sketchbook. Your sketchbook
will count for 20% of your grade. Plan to spend at least 30
minutes on each sketch. You can work on your sketches when you
first come into class, at home or when youve completed an
assignment and you have some down time.
