THEORY
Copper from Copper Salts (II) can precipitated as
Copper (II) Hydroxide. This settle is soluble in
Ammonium Hydroxide excessive as complex salts
[Cu(NH3)4]2+ .Therefore the precipitating used
Sodium Hydroxide or Pottasium Hydroxide. To be
spared from hydrolysis ion Cu2+ became Cu(OH)2,
before boiling Copper Sulfate solution must be
pickled with sulfic acid.
CuSO4 + H2O

Cu(OH)2 + H2SO4

BASIC

Salts solution of copper (II) heat deposited with a

strong alkaline solution (NaOH/KOH), be precipitated
as Cu(OH)2 are colored blue, after heated breaking
into a CuO precipitate black brown.

REACTION
CuSO4 + 2NaOH
Na2SO4

Cu(OH)2 +

CuO + H2O

HOW IT WORKS

DATA CALCULATION
Theoretical concentration:
Ar Cu / Mr CuSO4 . 5H2O X
100%
Concentration Practice:
(FK X Weight of Time
Incandescent / Weight sample)
X 100%

% Accuracy:
(% Practice /% Theoretical)
X 100%

% Mistake:
((Theoretical concentration - concentration
Practice) / Theoretical concentration) X
100%
