Difference Between Branding and Reputation


o They share a common ground but not identical
o Reputation is built naturally while Brand is constructed
o Reputation is seen to be collective presentation of past
images of an institution established over time while
Brand is immediate set of meaning associated with
particular institution.

Branding
o Branding is associated usually with the creation
of images with the purpose of increasing sales
but not in Higher Education Institution

o The higher education sector encounters


challenges in branding due to the high degree of
uniformity of the sectors and consequently the
difficulty to differentiate and create unique
images for higher education institution.
