Summary

(For Mercy's Sake)

The main idea for the essay "For Mercy's Sake" is an argument if euthanasia is a right thing or a wrong thing to do for suffering people. Euthanasia
is a killing of a human being for his or her alleged benefit and is illegal in
Canada by law. Patrick Martin (the author) explained how, Across North
America and Europe, the demand for help ending one's life, has increased
dramatically. He also explained, In the Netherlands, is one of the countries
to legalize Euthanasia, As many as 20,000 people a year choose to have
active assistance in dying. In Australia, more then 60 percent of doctors
help end a patient's life if the patient asks, this similar policy was favoured
in America too. In conclusion, Patrick Martin state his thesis that
Euthanasia should be legalized and is right if the person agrees to take
his or hr life. He said Doctors have to realize that in certain circumstances
assistance in dying is a form of medical treatment. It's another way of
relieving suffering.
