    The Overland Park Police Department is investigating a reported kidnapping of a female victim. On January 20th at 8 PM, officers responded to a reported car fire and an assaulted female victim in her early 30s. The victim said she was walking to her car when a man came up from behind, grabbed her neck, and forced her into the driver's seat of her car while he got in the back seat. She was instructed to drive to a nearby field, where the car hit a culvert and caught fire. The victim then ran from the vehicle, leaving the suspect behind, and was not injured.     January 21, 2015
    Police Department Investigating Reported Kidnapping of Female Victim
    On January 20, 2015, at approximately 8:00pm, officers responded to the 13200 block of Hardy
    on a reported car fire and a female (in her early 30's) who had been assaulted. The victim told
    police she was walking to her car in the parking lot when an unidentified male came up from
    behind and grabbed her around the neck.
    He forced her to get in the driver's seat of her nearby vehicle while he got in the seat behind her.
    She was instructed to drive to an adjacent field. The vehicle struck a culvert as it entered the field
    and then caught fire. The victim then ran from the vehicle leaving the suspect behind. The female
    was not injured.
    The suspect is described as 6 in height, heavy set, wearing a ball cap and a dark heavy coat.
    This case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Overland
