Police Department Investigating Reported Kidnapping of Female Victim
On January 20, 2015, at approximately 8:00pm, officers responded to the 13200 block of Hardy
on a reported car fire and a female (in her early 30's) who had been assaulted. The victim told
police she was walking to her car in the parking lot when an unidentified male came up from
behind and grabbed her around the neck.
He forced her to get in the driver's seat of her nearby vehicle while he got in the seat behind her.
She was instructed to drive to an adjacent field. The vehicle struck a culvert as it entered the field
and then caught fire. The victim then ran from the vehicle leaving the suspect behind. The female
was not injured.
The suspect is described as 6 in height, heavy set, wearing a ball cap and a dark heavy coat.
This case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Overland
