Alvarez Reacts to Lack of Financing Plan by Mayor to Fund Infrastructure

SAN DIEGO (January 21, 2015) Councilmember Alvarez has issued the following statement in
response to the Mayors Multi-Year Capital Planning Report:
The report tells us what we already know -- the Mayor has no plan to fix our Citys
infrastructure.
Five years from now, without real action by the Mayor, City facilities and streets will be in
worse condition than they are today.

Alvarez is the Councilmember for the Eighth Council District of the City of San Diego, which includes the
northern communities of Barrio Logan, Grant Hill, Logan Heights, Memorial, Sherman Heights, Stockton
and the southern communities of San Ysidro, Otay Mesa East and West, Ocean View Hills, Nestor, Egger
Highlands and the Tijuana River Valley. He is currently the chair of the City Councils Committee on the
Environment.
