    Comparative Essay Outline

    I. Introduction
    *Introductory information (1-2 simple sentences)
    *Thesis
    -time period, if stated in the prompt
    -regions
    -historical content
    -similarities and differences, these will be the body paragraphs
    II. Body Paragraphs
    *Topic Sentence: content listed in the thesis sentence
    *Evidence to support the topic sentence; must give at minimum 4 pieces of evidence per paragraph.
    *Include a direct comparison between the societies concerning the similarity or difference.
    *Analysis: Analyze the reason for the similarity or difference that was identified in the direct
    comparison. (BECAUSE)
    III. Conclusion
    * Restate thesis in new way.
    * Summarize the body paragraphs
    * Show continuation to next chronological period, NOT TO THE PRESENT!!!
