Responding deputies located one male and one female deceased on the property. The male was identified as 20- year old Steven Fisher and the female was identified as 17-year old Melisa Gregory, both of Newton. The manner of death for both Steven and Melisa was determined to be homicide. For the last 31 years, the deaths of Steven and Melisa have weighed heavy on the Fisher and Gregory families, this Sheriff's Office, and many in Jasper County. Since the bodies of Steven and Melisa were discovered, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of the Newton Police Department, the Jasper County Attorney's Office, the Office of the State Medical Examiner, and the Division of Criminal Investigation, have continued to work to bring justice for Steven and Melisa. After completing hundreds of interviews and processing the evidence, today, exactly 21 years later, lam announcing the arrest of THERESA “TERR!” SUPINO, 53, of Altoona, on two counts of murder in the first degree for the death of Steven Fisher and Melisa Gregory. Ms. SUPINO was arrested today at her home by officers of the Altoona Police Department and Jasper County deputies. Ms. SUPINO is being held in the Jasper County Jail.on $400,800 bond. In March of 1983, MS, SUPINO, also known-as THERESA FISHER, was married to Steven Fisher. As a reminder, a criminal charge is merely an accusation and Ms. SUPINO is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
