COCA MARKETING INTERN

Qualifications:
Marketing Intern applicants should be sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate students studying
Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or a closely-related field. Applicants should
be dependable, organized, detail-oriented, self-directed and willing to assume a leadership role on
projects. Applicants must possess excellent interpersonal skills and experience with Microsoft Excel,
Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
Major Responsibilities:
Managed by the Marketing Promotions & Publications Coordinator under the leadership of the
Director of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Intern assists the Marketing Department with
data entry, mailings, promotions, events and general administrative support. Specifically, the
Marketing Intern will:
Assist with the fulfillment of all grassroots community promotions efforts for the COCA
Presents performance series, including libraries, schools and retail outlets
Assist with planning and execution for marketing and promotional events
Complete writing assignments including letters, news releases, proposals, webpage content,
etc. in proportion to level of experience
Maintain ongoing archive files of external press and media mentions through Google Alerts,
Metro News Clips, etc.
Maintain ongoing archive files of COCAs marketing and event collateral pieces
Maintain COCAs alumni database
Maintain COCAs presence on online community calendars
Maintain the Marketing Departments media list
Staff on- and off-site promotions opportunities including off-site fairs and on-site events

Timeframe, Schedule & Positions Available:


Fall and Spring: September-December and January-April
(One unpaid internship position available each semester)
8-12 hours per week (Monday-Friday) with flexible hours to allow for school, part-time work
and/or other commitments
Some evening and weekend work for special projects and events
Summer: May-August
(Two unpaid internship positions available each summer)
15-20 hours per week (Mon/Wed/Fri and Tue/Thu/Fri) to allow for school, part-time work
and/or other commitments
Some evening and weekend work for special projects and events
