He opposed against the spontaneous
generation by Charles Darwin.
His theory was that flowering plants
divided into monocots and dicots.

He also published many books about his

John ray himself having a high christian
faith believed that plants and animals were
created by god, but he questioned himself
about it.
Ray stilled opposed his view to spontaneous
generation.
