When sifting through resumes searching for the best candidate, trying to select the next leader on a team or promoting the best performer in a business, the individual making the decision is hoping that something will hop off the paper or a significant interaction will make that decision an easy one. I did not have a decision to make when Anthony Marquez impacted me positively, helped increase ticket sales for our basketball program and spearheaded a successful charitable/group sales event. But I knew very soon thereafter he was a special guy. He has served our country with honor as a United States Marine, returned to school at Ball State where he is a near 4.0 student and is proactively investigating how to assist my staff while preparing for graduate studies. If thats not enough, he is a respected member of the Ball State baseball program as a manager playing a key role in that squads record-setting 2014 season. After I met him during one of his class projects selling basketball tickets, Anthony approached me with an idea to incorporate a local charity into a group sales opportunity. He sold me on the idea, I approved it and he took it and ran with it. He made a big contribution to the charity while attracting fans resulting in new ticket sales. We sit and talk often, Anthony and I. He is a dedicated individual with a clear goal to succeed in the sports business world. His unique experience combining a military background, team sports and highlevel academics is a tremendous blend. Perhaps most importantly, I believe he would be a good colleague and ambassador for any organization. Clearly, I highly recommend Anthony Marquez. Onward,
