Today's financial services marketing comprises a lot more than just making a
pretty advertisement. Today, the marketing department has a crucial role in
making businesses successful. And the BMA Essentials of Marketing for Bankers
School has the curriculum you need to pave a road to your organization's-and
your career's-success.
If you're new to bank marketing, or have no formal marketing training, this school
is for you. The Essentials School offers students a concentrated learning
experience that includes 30 hours of classroom instruction, as well as time to
interact with the expert faculty.
The program provides the basic knowledge of the marketing function and handson marketing techniques that ensure your career's success and your bank's
profitability.
Here are some of the skills the Essentials School curriculum covers applying
marketing principles; understanding the marketing department's role in banking;
structuring effective marketing plans; evaluating market research; and
understanding bank financial statements.
For the second year, the School will include a Career Marketing Workshop.
Susan Stout Mullineaux will lead the workshop that summarizes the Essentials
experience. Mullineaux is a principal of the Venture Resource Group in
Lexington, Ky., as well as former executive vice president at Bank One,
Lexington, NA.
The Career Workshop will give Essentials students practical ways to apply what
they learn at the school to their current jobs; and stay abreast of changes in the
dynamic banking and marketing environment. Mullineaux will also present ways
to use networking opportunities to remain current with specific marekting issues.
The School wil be held at the University College of the University of Maryland
campus in College Park, Md., a short distance from Washington, D.C.
