Mnchen ist stolz darauf, die europaweit grte Griechische Gemeinde auerhalb Griechenlands zu beheimaten. Die
Griechinnen und Griechen in Mnchen glnzen aber nicht nur durch ihre groe Zahl: Vor allem ist die griechische
Gemeinde Mnchens auch eine der aktivsten, und zwar sowohl was ihre eigenen Belange als auch den Dialog mit anderen
betrifft. Und so kann man es gar nicht oft genug betonen: Die Griechen in Mnchen sind ein wahres Musterbeispiel einer
erfolgreichen Integration. Sie pflegen ihre Religion, ihre Sprache, ihre Kultur und ihr Brauchtum, ihren Lebensstil, ihre
Gastfreundschaft und ihr Einheiisgefhl. Aber sic grenzen sich dabei nicht ab, sondern nehmen regen Anteil am
ffentlichen Leben und tauschen sich auch mit den christlichen Schwesterkirehen und anderen Glaubensgemeinschaften
und Gruppen der Stadtgesellschaft regelmig aus. Mit anderen Worten: Ohne die mehr als 25.000 griechischen
Mitbrgerinnen und Mitbrger wren Mnchens Klima der Toleranz und Weltoffenheit, Mnchens Charme und
Attraktivitt, Mnchens Urbanitt und wirtschaftliche Prosperitt nicht denkbar.
Welch' wichtige Rolle dabei speziell auch die griechischen Unternehmer und Freiberufler spielen, zeigt das
Branchenbuch Chryssos Odigos\ das auch in seiner neuesten Auflage wieder einen umfassenden berblick ber das
breite Ttigkeitsspektrum griechischer Selbststndiger in Mnchen gibt: Das reicht vom Gesundheits- bis zum
Bildungswesen, von der Finanz- und Versicherungswirtschaft bis zur Compuierbranche, vom Handel bis zum Handwerk,
von der Gastronomie bis zur Touristik, und das hrt da noch lange nicht auf.

Hinweis: Auf Befehl Knig Ludwigs I. musste General
leutnant Georg von Tausch (*26. 5. 1766 in Mannheim,
1 7.11.1836 an Cholera in Mnchen; vgl Tcher, S. 63)
ber das KgL Griechische Lyzeum in Mnchen a.d.
Arcisstr. 8 zur Erhaltung der Disziplin und der Ordnung
die Aufsicht bernehmen. Ihm wurde 1835 das goldene
Ritterkreuz 4. Klasse des Kgl. Griechischen Erlser-Or
dens verliehen (A.Y.E. 5/33/1 ti). Noch im selben Jahr
1836 eriag auch Kadett Leonidas Andmtsos, das einzige
Kind des Odysseus Andrutsos, der Cholera-Epedemie
und wurde auf dem Historischen Alten Sdl. Friedhof a.
d. Thalkirchener Strasse begraben (Papageorgios 66f,
Hufnagel 172 u. Kotsowilis 37,51f, Anm. 61). Dort in un
mittelbarer Nahe liegt auch der einen Monat vorher
ebenfalls an Cholera verstorbene Flgeladjutant Knig
Ottos I., Ilias Mavromichalis-Katsakos begraben (Papageorgios 67f, Hufiiagel 171, Kotsowilis 52 und A A Z Ao.
