Kautsar Achouchen

A2 Film Studies F634:

Synopsis:
My film revolves around a man in his early 50s who is writing about his escape
from a concentration camp. The escape takes place during The Holocaust. His
reason for escaping is because of the Nazi Germans that are ordering their men
to kill the Jews in the camp. My extract starts off with a quote and then a man
sitting on a wooden chair at a wooden table.
There is a lamp on the table illuminating enough light to show him and his
surroundings. The only thing you see is the plain wall and the character sitting at
the table. The man wears a suit and is writing on a piece of paper. This
contradicts the way Jews were represented in my film, as he looks sophisticated.
As he writes on the paper, flashbacks show his past and how he tried to escape
from the concentration camp.
A younger boy age 10 is shown running through the woods. A voice over is heard
during the entire 5minute clip. He carries on running and looks back. He looks
left and right trying to look for a hiding place. This is because the soldiers are
following him after seeing him escape from the concentration camp doors. The
idea of hiding comes into his mind when he sees a thick trunk on the ground. He
crouches behind a trunk while a voice over of the man writing on a piece of
paper in the first scene expresses the emotions that were flowing through him.
The boy is wearing a striped clothing to depict the segregation of Jewish people
from Nazi Germans. After some time the boy starts walking through the pathway
and eventually a shot is heard and the screen goes black and then shows the
ending scene of a quote from Anne Frank.
