Communication is a process that allows individuals to exchange information by several methods. Lot of
study has already been done on communication and its effect especially on Business School students.
Communication is included now-a-days as MBA Program curriculum. However, no longitudinal study
has been done between the relationship of Soft-Skill (SS) and Enhancement of Employability (EOE) in
Business Schools and Engineering Colleges in the city of Kolkata. The present study intends to address
this gap and tried to create a systematic understanding of: The components of Soft Skills, The role of
Soft Skills in Employability Enhancement of technical and management students, Factors of
Employability perceived by the employers. Hence this research raises one prominent question with

Skills one of the parameters in employability enhancement?
Some of the terminologies are all familiar to us in everyday life, but the meanings and approaches are
different to different people. Precise definitions are required for a scientific study. The concepts of

Social Grace and Interpersonal Skills, Business Etiquette and Interpersonal Skills, Negotiation Skills
and Interpersonal Skill, Behavioral Traits and Interpersonal skills, etc. are required to highlight.
Moreover, a conceptual framework is also needed to establish as shown below to deal with the
mentioned hypothesis. The effect of six independent variables, IS, TS, SG, BE, NS, and BT on one
dependent variable, EOE for testing the hypothesis.
We propose to study the above relationship in 80 Engineering and Management colleges in West Bengal,
having significant contribution to higher and professional studies and average respondent may be 30
