On Thursday, January 29, 2015, Jackson Police Officers responded to CMMC regarding a 23
month old toddler boy with severe burns that was unresponsive. The toddler was later transported
to UMC for further medical treatment due to the severity of the injuries. According to the
attending physicians the toddler was listed in serious condition and there were obvious signs of
child abuse.
Jackson Police Investigators conducted a follow-up investigation. This incident allegedly
occurred at 5121 Gardenia Dr. The mother, Dymond Clements and her boyfriend, Quenten
Johnson were both taken into custody for questioning. Mississippi Department of Human
Services was also contacted and took custody of a second child (6 years old) whom was
uninjured. Quenten Johnson is not the father of the injured toddler or the 6 year old child.
Both, Quenten Johnson and Dymond Clements have been arrested and charged with Felony
Child Abuse and Felony Child Neglect stemming from this incident. The investigation is still
ongoing and the toddler is still listed in serious condition.
