Preparation : Introduce pupils to some vocabulary (e.g. pet, tame, cat, rabbit) and
get

pupils to use the words to make simple sentences orally. (Reading and

Speaking Modules) Use a passage about My Pet in the reading module.


Content Standard :
4.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to enjoy and appreciate

4.3 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to plan, organise and
produce creative works for enjoyment.

Objectives :
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to :
1) Produce stick puppets with teachers guidance.
2) Sequence ascending and descending number based on the poem.

Teacher displays pictures of cats to the pupils.


Teacher asks a few questions based on the pictures.
Teacher distributes templates of different cat designs to each pupil.
Teacher asks pupils to decorate the templates according to their creativity.
Teacher distributes wooden sticks to each pupils to be pasted on the templates.
Teacher asks pupils to find their group members of the same cats templates.
Teacher displays poem entitled Cats on the board.
Teacher instructs and demonstrates to chant the poem.

9. Teacher asks the first group go to the front of the class and teacher demonstrates
the chant with the stick puppets together with the group.
10. Teacher asks all groups to perform the chant with stick puppets together.
