Scotts Weekly Newsletter

Week in Review: January 26 - 30

Forms that went home this week:
-Hot Lunch order form (white) **there was a mistake on this form and I have been told a
new order form will be sent home soon
This week Mrs. Pakenham shared a book called How Full is Your Bucket? The class had to think about
someone who has filled their bucket. They drew a picture then wrote down who was in the picture and
what they had done.
In math, we started the Time unit. We have been playing around with cardboard analog clocks and can
now read oclock, quarter after, half past and quarter to. Quiz your child over the weekend to try to
read those times on a clock at home.
The field was a little icy for our weekly cross-country ski, but still a lot of fun! They are really starting
to get the hang of it!
As always, a big Thank You to the parents and grandparents that have been able to make it out to tie
skates on Thursdays! We have one more week of our class skate and the final school skate will be
Thursday February 19th at 10:45 am.
We had a great turn out for our POPS night! We hope everyone enjoyed the milk and cookies!
We did a couple of investigations in Science. The first was exploring the properties of 3 mystery liquids.
The second was determining whether oobleck is a liquid or a solid. Ask your child what they discovered.
Mrs. Keiver took the time to show us how do artwork inspired by Ted Harrison, a Canadian artist who was
known for his northern landscapes. She will be making a display in the school from all three grade 2/3
classes!
