CHAPTER IV

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA


The following section show the data gathered which are then analysed and
presented. By employing the different statistical treatments, the researcher was
able to analyse and interpret the data in a scientific and systematic way. The Users
results are used in this study. The said results, together with their corresponding
discussions, are indicated in this chapter.

Table 1 shows the age group of the user respondents. The ages are ranged
and grouped together in a way where they will depict the usual age group present in
the School of Library and Information Studies. Ages 16-19 are grouped together
because they are usually freshmen, sophomores, shiftees and transferees. Ages 2023 are grouped together because they are usually upperclassmen (junior and senior
standing). Ages 24-27 are usually composed of MLIS students. While those in above
27 are mostly member of faculty or library.
Among the 196 respondents, 44.4% are from the age 20-23 group, followed
by age 16-19 with 27%, aged 24-27 with 19.4% and lastly age above 27 with 9.2%.
This clearly shows that majority of the library users are from the upperclassmen
group.
