New Paddle Game Directions-3
Directions:
1. Explain to the students that they will be playing a game to review the 5 food
groups and Go, Slow, Whoa foods.
2. Divide class in to five teams.
3. Each team will select one person whose job will be to hold up the paddles.
4. Each team will have 3 paddles: Go (green), Slow (yellow), and Whoa (red).
5. Explain you will be holding up different foods, giving each team a turn to
guess the correct answer. Each food model will have either a green, yellow, or
red colored sticker on the back to indicate the correct answer for you to refer
to.
6. Together, the team needs to decide if the food being shown is a Go, Slow, or
Whoa food.
7. The team will have 10 seconds to decide and hold up the sign that indicates
their choice.
8. Once the team has come to a decision, one member of the group will hold up
the correct Go, Slow, or Whoa paddle.
9. If the answer is correct, the team will get 1 point. If the answer is wrong, no
points are received. This turn is over and the next team gets a new food card.
10.Have a score board ready to tally points for each team.
11.Continue until all food models are shown and be sure to use a different food
model for each team.
12.Tally the scores, and the team with the most points wins!
